My First Encounter With A Monkey Family…..
My Dear Reha,
Home is getting ready at a pace faster than I could imagine. So far your Meethi Ma took all the decisions, critical or otherwise, to let the life move forward….and now, You and Nitish have taken over….from where She left……..Home is getting into a good shape……
You know what happened yesterday. Nitish had gone back late afternoon after attending to the issues relating to Plumber, Electrician and Carpenter. All the three had come in the morning to do their respective jobs. Once Nitish gone, I had my evening tea and was about to go out on my bicycle, when I saw a big female monkey climbing and walking past balcony of your room with a small cute infant clung on her back, both eating fresh ‘nashpati’ leisurely without caring for the outside world. It just took them a couple of seconds to cross the railing but I could get a full glimpse of their stealth movement. I was excited and called out Bua ……’The big monkey must have snatched or stolen somebody’s fruit’ , I told her. I also told her to keep the doors shut all the time to avoid such episodes in our Home. I was laughing secretly in my heart at the unknown poor person who lost the fruit…..
Meanwhile, I went inside the kitchen. To my horror, I found the Refrigerator door open, couple of polythene bags lying strewn on the floor and, as Bua confirmed, two ‘nashpatis’ missing……I looked up and discovered that my kitchen window was slightly open…….
I wish I could share it with your Meethi Ma.
Well, I did the next best thing. I am writing to you.
But I know She must be laughing and sharing my stupidity with God.
Love.
Dad
